boiler gauges to ascertain need for water. Opens valevs and
starts boiler-feed water pumps to supply water, or adjusts
controls to start pumps automatically when water level reaches
specified point. Observes operation of pupms to detect
malfunctions. Tests water to detemrine suitability for boiler
use or obtains sample for laboratory analysis. Adds specified
chemical to condition boiler water. May clean boilers. May tend
evapoartor to purify water.
